Summary: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is about a girl named Juliette. She hasn't touched another person in 264 days exactly. The last time she did, the Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one cares why her touch is lethal, as long as she is locked up, because the world is to busy trying to survive to pay attention to 17-year-old Juliette. Disease, famine, pollution, and death have plagued the world. The Reestablishment said they were the only ones who could save the world, but death is becoming more abundant. They decide to reconsider Juliette as a weapon of war. Juliette has one choice: be a weapon of war or be a warrior for herself. My Thoughts: I loved this so much, I read the entire trilogy in two days. While the main character is annoying and indecisive at times, the writing and ideas are fantastic. The story is engaging and you feel like you have been completely swept into this crazy dystopian world. If you like dystopian novels and haven't already read this trilogy, I highly recommend it to you. |
