Summary: Touch of Power is about a girl named Avry of Kazan. Avry is a healer. Healers lay hands on the injured or dying and assume the disease into their own body, where they can heal quicker than the average person. Great right! Wrong, healers are blamed for spreading a plague that decimated the Territories, and are hunted. Avry is abducted from jail by a band of rogues, who value her gift above the prize money for her capture. Avry must heal the dying prince, the leader of a campaign against her people. As they travel over the dangerous Nine Mountains, Avry must decide what is worth healing and what is worth dying for. My Thoughts: I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the other two books in the trilogy. These books, while not recently published, are wonderful. I recommend these high fantasy books and other Maria V. Snyder books to the lovers of young adult fantasy. |
