Summary: The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black is about a girl named Hazel, who lives with her brother, Ben in the town of Fairfold. A place where humans and fae coexist. The faeries', so called, harmless magic attracts tourists, but Hazel knows how dangerous they can be. At the center of it all is a glass coffin in the woods. In it is a boy who has horns on his head and ears as pointed as knives, sleeps. Hazel, along with everyone else, loves him as a child. The boy never wakes, no matter what people try to do. Until one day, he does... My Thoughts: I loved this book. It is an almost a paranormal fantasy, but it isn't super scary. I enjoyed Holly Black's other stand alone novel, so I went into this book with high expectations and it exceeded it. I don't know what else to say other than GO READ IT! |
